Empowering Sounds of Movement Inc. is a nonprofit corporation organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes. Specifically, this organization has been formed to instruct the deaf and hearing youth as well as young adults in the community for the purpose of improving or developing their capabilities to empower them to become tomorrow’s entrepreneurs.
Our program is entitled: Community Business Educational Training (CBET). This program will provide the fundamental forces of resources and motivation that will help the Deaf & Hearing youth and young adults get the essential help needed to move in the right direction for success. Most importantly, the CBET program will prepare the youth and young adults for the Workforce in two parts. Part 1: Job-Readiness, Financial Literacy, and Transitional Living. Part 2: The Snap Shot Program which offers Cosmetology, Barbering, Silk Screening, Video Production and Fashion Design. ESOM are involved and more than prepared for the vast number of Deaf and Hearing youth and young adults with special needs to meet their future goals.
Equally important, our program focuses on providing critical thinking and problem solving scenarios that may arise while on the job or in the community to help the youth and young adults function independently. We will use real-life challenges to teach how to overcome adversity as well as what questions to ask should concerns arise. Through cooperative learning and group activities, our candidates will learn the following skills: writing cover letters/resumes, completing job applications, job interviewing, dressing professional, portfolio development, locating job resources, and developing social skills while building confidence.
Our CBET program will help the deaf and hearing youth and young adults to become efficient & effective professional business minded entrepreneurs; working their vision into a reality.
